Frequently Asked Questions

How does SteamVault work?

You sign in with your Steam account, post a listing of games you want to trade, and other users place bids specifying what they'll pay (TF2 Keys, PayPal, etc.). When you find a bid you like, you accept it and contact the buyer directly on Steam to complete the trade.

Does SteamVault process payments?

No. We are purely a listing and bid facilitation platform. All payments are handled directly between trading partners outside this site. We never hold, receive, or transmit any funds.

How many games can I list?

Free accounts (Trader rank) can list up to 10 games per listing. Higher ranks โ€” Bronze Merchant, Silver Merchant, Gold Merchant, and Diamond Merchant โ€” allow 20, 50, 100, and unlimited games respectively. Ranks are assigned by admins.

What do I do after my bid is accepted?

Visit the seller's profile on SteamVault, click the "View on Steam" button to open their Steam profile, then add them as a friend and arrange the trade via Steam chat. The entire transaction happens between you two directly on Steam.

How does the reputation system work?

After trading with someone, you can leave them a positive (+1) or negative (โˆ’1) review with an optional comment. You can leave one review per user. Reviews can be updated if your experience changes. Reputation scores help the community identify trustworthy traders.

What if someone scams me?

While we cannot intervene in off-platform transactions, you can leave a negative review to warn the community. You can also report the user to Steam directly at help.steampowered.com. Always check reputation scores and VAC status before trading.

Is my data safe?

We only store your public Steam profile information (name, avatar, Steam ID). We do not store passwords โ€” authentication is handled entirely by Steam's OpenID system. Your Steam ID and public profile are visible to other users as part of the trading process.
